"black men die first in movies..." - 2001.11.03 by WB

...because the screen writers and directors draw on their own prejudice fantasies and ideas, writes Clifford E. Pulliam in His story, published by the black online film magazine reelimagesmagazine.com.
He is highlighting the main reason for these distorted images: Fear! Fear, which comes from misunderstanding "the other". The only way of increasing the understanding between the people of different background - we believe - is communication in every form. Dialogue and exchange of ideas, art and culture. Pulliam gives one advice in his article, how the existence of stereotypes in movies could be reduced: "The simple remedy to this problem is to be found in portrayals that originate from the life experiences from members of the ethnic groups to be portrayed."
