| Local-In Connecticut: The Bruce Museum presents the Exhibition: "Empire of the Sultans", which brings the magnificence of the Ottoman Empire alive: Ottoman Art from the Khalili Collection. Over 200 objects, ranging from Korans adorned with elegant calligraphy, to scientific instruments, carpets and textiles, embrace every aspect of Ottoman art and the dynasty that spanned more than six centuries. The objects represent works from throughout the empire, including Turkey, Greece, Armenia, Syria, North Africa, Egypt and the Balkans. The exhibition will last until January 27, 2002.
