| Since 1996, Radio Free Asia is broadcasting different views, based out of Washington, D.C. Programming in 9 different languages (including Tibetan) can be received only via Long Wave frequencies. RFA's primary mandate is "...to provide information in the form of radio broadcasts to China, Tibet, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Korea and Vietnam." Financed thorugh the US-Congress, the station works mostly independent - even from the govenernment-funded"Voice of America".
