| Refreshing sometimes, just to read the outside view from across the Atlantic - especially after a "State of the Union" speech from the American President. I enjoyed reading "If it's good for America, it's good for the world" from Paul Rogers, Professor of Peace Studies at Bradford University (UK). He gives a short review of the events since 9/11 and how the American government reacted. He points out how Europe stressed more the need for sustainable development, peace efforts and prevention, while the US is acting on their war-time situation. The article will also appear in the February 2002 issue of The World Today , published by the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House. Paul Rogers latest book, "Losing Control: Global Security in the 21st Century" (Pluto Press, 2000) has just been reprinted.
