| various PBS stations currently repeat their mini-event from February's Black History Month: "Africa in the Pictures", which offers the very rare possibility to watch African Films on TV. As the San Francisco Examiner explained: "Africa in the Pictures" is a three-part series of films by African directors. Introduced by Danny Glover, the series marks the first national broadcast of African-produced films. The films are Ousmane Sembene's "Faat Kine," which chronicles a few days in the life of a middle-aged single mother, and Djibril Diop Mambety's "Tales of Ordinary People," which includes two films in a proposed trilogy -- "Le Franc," about a poor musician who is fixated on winning the lottery, and "La Petite Vendeuse de Soleil," the story of a 12-year-old paraplegic girl who wants to be the first female newscaster in Dakar.
